Scott Lewis
of St. Louis has several generations of family
who has served in the military, including his wife,
father and grandfather.
To honor them and veterans everywhere he has created the
"Spirit of America" car. He has totally taken apart and
put together a 1971 Mustang Mach I fastback.
The Mustang project has taken two years at a cost of
some $80,000. The beauty of the car is in the graphics
that portray the history of American war veterans going
all the way back to the American Revolution. Scott has
worked with a graphic designer that has meticulously put
together images from Scott's photo collection and other
sources in a near flawless layout on the car. The photos
remain intact with the curvature of the automobile.
The goal is to remind Americans that freedom is not free
and there is a price to pay to enjoy our lifestyle.
Scott is taking the car on a tour with the Hot Rod Power
Tour starting June 4th, 2010 in Des Moines and ending
June 12th in Alabama.
He is raising money for the Fisher House, an
international non-profit organization which helps treat
veterans suffering from trauma who have served in Iraq
and Afghanistan. |
