Command's USNS Spearhead (Joint High Speed Vessel - JHSV 1)
prepares for its christening at Austal USA in Mobile,
Alabama on September 17th, 2011. The Spearhead is the
first of ten Navy joint high speed vessels designed for
quick intra-theater transport of troops and military
equipment. The 338-foot-long aluminum
catamarans are designed to be fast, flexible and
maneuverable, even in shallow waters. |
