| Army Gen. Martin
Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told
reporters there are no indications of a change "in North
Korean behavior of a nature that would alarm us," in
regards to the death of N. Korean leader Kim-Jong il, and
there have been no changes to the alert readiness of US
forces in Korea, though South Korean armed forces are on a

US Soldiers from the 23rd Chemical
Battalion and 110th Chemical Battalion from Joint Base
Lewis-McChord, Washington, recently participated in
Operation Saber Strike II, a combined U.S. and Republic of
Korea exercise conducted at Camp Stanley, South Korea on
November 9th, 2011. The
exercise focused on Soldiers being able to detect,
identify and defend against Chemical, Biological,
