Ghost Stealth Ship
August 31, 2011
Juliet Marine has released the first public photos of its Ghost ship, a stealthy concept craft that is claimed to glide through the water in a gaseous bubble. The effect, known as supercavitation, greatly reduces friction with the water and allows the craft to reach speeds up to 60 mph. Juliet Marine believes the craft could revolutionize naval warfare and would be ideal for inserting special ops troops on coastlines and attacking enemy fleets. The photo above doesn't give away how the craft actually works, but another photo (below) found on the Juliet Marine website gives a few clues. Below the water sit two pods on "wings" that protrude from the ship into the water. The two pods supercavitate while the main part of the craft stays above water. The pods are similar in form and function to a superfast Russian torpedo that is suspected of utilizing supercavitation. Look closely to the left in the photo below to see an artist's concept of the craft in action.

Pakistan Gave China Access to US Stealth Helicopter
August 14, 2011
Pakistan allowed Chinese military personnel to view the "stealth" helicopter US forces abandoned after it made a hard landing during the Bin Laden raid, according to news reports. Chinese military engineers reportedly surveyed the wreckage, took photographs and even obtained a sample of the top secret "stealth skin" that helped the helo fly undetected into Pakistan airspace. Navy SEALs destroyed part of the helo with explosives. The intact tail-section of the helo, which landed outside a wall, was eventually returned to the U.S. after a diplomatic mission by Sen. John Kerry.
