INDIAN OCEAN (Sept. 5, 2007) - Indian Navy aircraft carrier INS Viraat (R 22) participates in Exercise Malabar 2007 with Kitty Hawk and Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and ships of the navies of Australia, India, Japan and the Republic of Singapore. The exercise is designed to increase interoperability among the navies and to develop common procedures for maritime security operations.
