A convoy of Louisiana Army National Guard vehicles from the 199th Brigade Support Battalion in Alexandria, La., attempts to reach the small southwest town of Hackberry, La., after the landfall of Hurricane Ike. The town, which is in Cameron Parish, received massive damage from flooding caused by the storm. The 199th BSB, 256th Infantry Brigade in Lafayette, La., is operating transport missions for residents of South Louisiana who have been affected by the storm. The 256th has also been operating areas of safe haven known as Lily Pads, offering food and water for the flood victims.
