Claim: CIA Never Believed Francis Gary Powers Was Shot Down

The official story was that Francis Gary Powers, U-2 spyplane pilot, was shot down by a Soviet surface-to-air missile at 70,000 feet. However, if documents seen by The Times are to be believed, Powers inexplicably descended to 34,000 feet and bailed out, spending his first night in Soviet Russia in a nightclub, according to one version of the incident.

A recently-popular video at YouTube purports to show two fighter jets chasing a UFO over West Midlands, UK in February 2010. Skeptics are giving many reasons why the video is probably a fake. They say, for example, the whooshing sounds heard in the video are probably from passing cars and the video ends abruptly even though the "event" is ongoing.
