The official story was that Francis Gary Powers, U-2 spyplane
pilot, was shot down by a Soviet surface-to-air missile at
70,000 feet. However, if documents seen by
The Times are to be believed,
Powers inexplicably descended to 34,000 feet and bailed out,
spending his first night in Soviet Russia in a nightclub,
according to one version of the incident.
Video of Two Fighter Jets Chasing UFO Over UK?

A recently-popular video at YouTube purports to show two
fighter jets chasing a UFO over West Midlands, UK in February
2010. Skeptics are giving many reasons why the video is
probably a fake. They say, for example, the whooshing sounds
heard in the video are probably from passing cars and the
video ends abruptly even though the "event" is ongoing.

investigative journalist, the US Special Operations Command
has been tasked with planning a secret operation to snatch the
secret archives of Cuban president Fidel Castro. The archives
could shed light on over five decades of US-Cuban intrigue,
including mob activities and perhaps even the assassination of
JFK.

(photo, right), a civilian full-time Defense Department
employee based at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, set
up a network of private contractors in Afghanistan and
Pakistan to help track and kill suspected militants.
